Building on generations of civic education leadership
Founding Forward was formed through the merger of two long-standing American institutions: The Union League Legacy Foundation, founded in 1947, and Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge, founded in 1949. For generations, the two organizations have recognized Americans who uphold the foundations of our democratic system of government and educated future leaders to carry those founding principles forward. Based on their decades-long partnership, they united around a shared goal: to ensure a future rooted in liberty.
Give Me Liberty - a civic conference
Founding Forward is excited to announce a new national conference to celebrate America’s 250th and the continued growth of Founding Forward as a national leader in civic education. Give Me Liberty: A Civic Conference, held from September 15-18, 2026, will bring hundreds to Philadelphia and Valley Forge to experience Founding Forward’s immersive civic education programs, which celebrate the places where history unfolded.
This event will provide an incredible opportunity for invited participants to celebrate America’s birthday, meet and collaborate with others, build new partnerships, and inspire those engaged in this work to do more by launching a platform for new programs and a new national movement.
